An octa-core CPU of two clusters, Snapdragon 720G has a fast performance cluster containing 2 ARM Cortex-A76 cores (Kryo 465 Gold) which are clocked upto 2.3 GHz. A better clocking than Snapdragon 730G, which runs at 2.2 GHz only. Whereas the Second cluster is the power efficiency cluster that handles all the power efficient capable features. It consists of 6 small ARM Cortex-A55 cores (Kryo 465 Silver) that are clocked upto 1.8 GHz.

The usage of the cores completely depend on the workload and other batter saving user activities. At a single time you can see one cluster running or multiple cores running at varied clock speeds.

Qualcomm Snapdragon has introduced the audio codec WCD9385 for the first time after the Chipset Snapdragon 712. This codec features a customized digital filter that has been designed with “Golden Ears” feature. This filter enhances the sound quality for users to achieve their own signature sound.

As WCD 9385 has an integrated DAC (Digital-to-Analog Convertor), it supports Direct-Stream Digital. DAC has an ultra-low Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise (THD+N), meaning no additional noise or signal goes in for producing high quality sound.
