Today, you might have received your new SBI ATM card with EMV chip and you want to know do I need to visit State bank of India branch for new card ATM PIN? Well, you don’t need to.
You can easily generate your ATM PIN from an ATM machine, through SMS and by using Net Banking.

ATM pin can be easily generated from the ATM machine. The process is very simple and you just need to follow the things as described below.
To generate first PIN from ATM machine you must have some things ready with you.
Things you need
- SBI Debit Card
- SBI Account Number
- Registered mobile number & mobile
Step 1: First of all visit nearest SBI ATM to start the process of PIN generation
Step 2: Insert the card and click on the PIN generation button

Step 3: Now it will ask for SBI A/C No. – Enter 11 digit SBI A/c number

Step 4: Now enter your mobile number linked with your a/c number

Step 5: After this screen will display a confirmation message – Click on the confirm button
Step 6: Now you will get final confirmation that you will receive OTP (One time password) on your mobile number
Step 7: You will get an OTP which you can use for 2 days to create your SBI card PIN from any SBI bank ATM
Step 8: Go to SBI ATM again, enter card, select banking > PIN change > Now enter OTP recieved on your phone
Step 9: Enter your new PIN, your SBI ATM PIN generated successfully

You can also generate SBI ATM pin from your registered mobile number also by simply sending a message.
For this, you have to send an SMS on 567676 from your registered mobile number and you will receive OTP shortly. Let’s check what is the exact format for SMS.
Step 1: Go to messages and type PIN <Last 4 digits of SBI ATM card> <Last 4 digits of SBI account number
Step 2: Send this SMS to 567676 and you will receive an OTP on the same number which is valid for 2 days
Step 3: After receiving OTP you have to go to SBI ATM and follow the same process as explained in step 8 above
Generate ATM pin for SBI debit card by calling customer care
You can also get the OTP to set PIN of debit card by calling customer care also. For this you have to call on the numbers given below from your registered mobile number.

Step 1: Select your preferred language by pressing number on keypad
Step 2: Now press 2 to select ATM and prepaid card
Step 3: Press 1 for SBI ATM PIN generation
Step 4: Enter SBI ATM card number and after confirmation press 1
Step 5: Now enter 11 digit SBI account number and after confirmation press 1
Step 6: You will receive an OTP which will be valid for 2 days
Step 7: After this process is same as explained previously
ATM pin generation using Net Banking

In this tutorial, I will see you how to generate ATM pin for SBI debit card online using net banking.
In this process, I will cover what things you would require, how to activate SBI debit card online and then how to generate atm pin for SBI debit card using net banking.
Things You Need
- New EMV Chip SBI ATM card
- Mobile number connected to Bank account
- Access to SBI Net banking Website
How to activate SBI Debit Card using Net banking? (State Bank of India)
Step 1: Go to the web browser and visit SBI Net banking Website to login in your PC or smartphone
Step 2: Select continue to log in and add your username and password for SBI net banking

Step 3: Once logged in, click on E-Service from the menu list on the Top. Given in the below picture

Step 4: In e-services, select ATM Card services

Step 5: In ATM Card Service, Click on New ATM Card Activation

Step 6: On the next page, it will ask you to enter the ATM card number. So, pick up your new SBI ATM card and enter your Card number twice and click on Activate and confirm

Step 7: You will get an OTP (Open Time Password) on your registered phone number. Enter the code and click on confirm
NOTE: You will see a message saying that “Your ATM card is successfully activated”
How to Generate SBI ATM PIN using Net banking?
Step 8: Now go back to ATM card service by click on the Quick link – ATM Card Service
Step 9: After that, select ATM PIN generation from ATM Card Service

Step 10: You can select any mode you want to generate ATM PIN. If you don’t remember your profile password don’t worry you can select OTP mode

Step 11: Enter you OTP that you get from the message and click on Submit button
Step 12: Now select your account followed by your New ATM Card then click on Submit

Step 13: Now you can set your two first digit of your ATM PIN then submit. You will get the last digit of the PIN in a message sent to registered mobile no.
Step 14: After that enter the complete PIN to confirm
After this, your PIN will be set and you can use your new ATM card with that PIN.
